Porter Steel, Inc. constantly points its collective mind toward the future, and Hard Ship Yachts is part of that vision. Lowe began researching the idea of steel yacht building in February 2002, and after several months of planning he began his first yacht in December of that year.

The exploration into this venture lands the company with many challenges as we meticulously discover the process. Lowe and the Hard Ship team work out the best procedure at each step in the process in order to fine tune the production and promote a more streamlined method.

Lowe believes in this path for the company and is excited about the prospects. "I would keep the first production as a prototype...to show potential buyers our abilities to build a custom yacht for their use."

The company's experience in the steel industry, coupled with Lowe's passion of the ocean and seafaring, is the strong tail wind which will spur the company on to new markets.
